At 16, Neal Goldstein dropped out of high school. It was the final in a long line of defeats, and it represented the acceptance of an inevitable fate.
Neal was an underprivileged boy, self-raised in a tumultuous home with an abusive father and a disabled mother who couldn’t earn or fully take care of herself, let alone her three children. Neal did the only thing he could think to do – quit dreaming of a future, get a job, and look after his mom as best he could with his limited life skills.
One day, alone and lacking guidance, he wandered into a Jewish Community Centre where he unexpectedly found the one thing that had been missing from his life and would change everything.
He found understanding, human connections, and relationships.
Over the last thirty years Neal’s successes have included establishing himself as a well-established and highly respected personal injury lawyer, inspirational speaker, and mostproudly, President and board member for the Jewish Community Centre. He’s also a friend to everyone he meets.
Neal’s story is the story of a life gone full circle. The circumstances that held him back and threatened to derail him permanently are the same circumstances that motivated him to pull up his bootstraps, get his high school equivalency education, go to college, earn his way into law school, and open a law firm so he could help the others in need of advocacy. And he did it all while working full-time to support himself and his mother.
Everything changed for Neal the moment he understood that real happiness and personal success come from cultivating genuine relationships and especially being worthy of them.
Whether it’s business success, recovering from an injury, overcoming life’s defeats and disappointments, or leading teams of other people to success, Neal believes the relationships we cultivate outperform any tool or technology, and overcome all challenges and roadblocks.
The moment Neal recognized that his life’s worst experiences represent his best purpose, he knew that nothing could hold him back. He not only found personal gratification in the relationships he cultivated, but also the relentless motivation to share that understanding with
others.
Neal’s professional credentials are invaluable to his clients, but it’s his authenticity that earns their trust and respect the most. He continues to welcome new legal clients and remains committed to advocating for those who need his help.
