I Almost Didn’t Go… Here’s Why I’m So Glad I Did

Today’s episode is a little different.

There isn’t a guest. Instead, I wanted to share a personal experience that reminded me why relationships still matter—perhaps now more than ever.

I almost skipped a New York Law School alumni event. I told myself all the things many of us tell ourselves: it’s too hot, it’s too much effort, I probably won’t know anyone, and what’s the point?

I’m incredibly grateful that I went.

In this first episode of That One Lawyer Unplugged, I talk about what happened after I walked into the room, why genuine relationships are built one conversation at a time, and why too many successful professionals stop meeting new people long before they should.

This isn’t really about networking.

It’s about connection.

If you’ve ever hesitated before walking into a room full of strangers—or felt like you were “past” needing to meet new people—I hope this conversation encourages you to take that first step.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Have you ever almost skipped something that ended up changing your perspective?
